ALERT TO TROUBLE: Woke up this morning to find my checking account
cleaned out-$5000 gone. How-via PayPal, some hacker got into my computer and
using my IP address sent the money to themselves. PayPal said they would
stand behind it. I went to the bank and closed my accounts and got a
separate checking account just for online use, at their suggestion. While I
was there I received a message from PayPal that they will not stand behind
the claim because the request came from my computer. I have to provide proof
that my IT guy found and deleted the Trojans and Pups that did it. If
any of you have any creative ideas for moving money around without using
PayPal please share, as I am angry with them. In the mean time, inactivate
your account, set up a security key that will come across as a text message
on your cell phone and for gosh sakes get a separate checking account that
isn't related to any of your other assets and use only that with PayPal.
